Mr Wei-Han Tay is an Australian-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in the treatment of foot and ankle conditions, and Orthopaedic trauma.  He consults and operates privately at Harcourt Specialist Centre, Epworth Eastern, Epworth Freemasons, Knox Private Hospital, Holmesglen Private Hospital, the Avenue Hospital and at Sandringham Orthopaedic Specialists.

Wei-Han attended Brighton Grammar School and obtained his undergraduate medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 2005.  He commenced his Basic Surgical Training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2007, during which he was also an anatomy demonstrator at the University of Melbourne and studied a Post Graduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy.  In 2008, he devoted a year to full time clinical research as part of his Master of Surgery under the University of Melbourne.

Wei-Han completed his Advanced Surgical Training in Orthopaedic Surgery in New South Wales, and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and as a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) in 2016.  He subsequently spent another 12 months undertaking AOA-accredited fellowships to gain further expertise and experience in his chosen subspecialties.  This included a foot and ankle fellowship at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, and a shoulder fellowship at Western Health in Melbourne. 

Wei-Han has public appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Box Hill Hospital, performing emergency and elective Orthopaedic Surgery. He is active on the oncall roster for acute trauma at both hospitals. He is also the AOA Director of Training for Orthopaedic Surgery at Box Hill Hospital, and the supervisor for the Orthopaedic Surgical Interns and Residents at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Wei-Han adopts an individualised and evidence-based approach to patient care, using modern and proven surgical techniques and implants.  He will listen to your specific concerns, and openly communicate with you about your expectations and management options throughout your journey to recovery.  Wei-Han is always particular in his work and attention to detail, and will continuously strive to achieve the best outcomes for his patients.
